Also, note that you won&#8217;t be able to see the characters appearing while typing.<\/li>\n<li>The terminal will warn that it is about to erase the drive press Y to continue and then Return.<\/li>\n<li>Once the erasing process is over, you see a message displaying on the screen asking if you would like to use the drive for Time Machine. Make sure you click on Don\u2019t Use.<\/li>\n<li>Now, you will find that the Terminal will spend a few moments copying the installer file to your drive. After this process is completed a message &#8220;Copy complete.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Now on your external driver, you will have the installer which you can use to boot.
