  • The terminal will warn that it is about to erase the drive press Y to continue and then Return.
  • Once the erasing process is over, you see a message displaying on the screen asking if you would like to use the drive for Time Machine. Make sure you click on Don’t Use.
  • Now, you will find that the Terminal will spend a few moments copying the installer file to your drive. After this process is completed a message “Copy complete.”
  • Now on your external driver, you will have the installer which you can use to boot. You need to plug this external drive into the Mac system on which you want to install it.
  • In the next step, start up the Mac, and press down the Option/Alt key while it is booting up.
  • Your Mac will appear the Startup Manager, make a click on your High Sierra drive and select Install macOS.
